Day 1 of my 30 day Brainsparker Creativity Kickstart! Taking time to think deeply about my goal, and what I want to achieve will create a map of sorts so I know where I’m going, how I’m going to get there, and what the destination is.
Reflecting on the quote “Every day is a new opportunity to make a new happy ending” I need to ask myself the following three questions:
- What does success look like at the end of 30 days? Lets get one thing straight, I’m a big fat optimist. Right now I believe that at the end of 30 days I will pick up my laptop, and look back on 30 days of brilliant, insightful posts, and I will have established a practice of daily writing that consistently produces a creative bit of writing, a post, or at least a draft I can continue to work on. I also believe that writing can be limited to a specific time, and that will not be an all-day endeavor like it is now. Having said that, every day will be a step up the ladder, or another mile on the journey, or another brick in the wall. Each day is a sprint, and the next day is an opportunity to recalibrate, rethink, redouble my efforts.
- What will I be doing differently? I will have established a writing time and place. I will not relegate writing to the end of my to-do list as a reward for having accomplished everything else as I do now. I will have made an appointment with myself to write on a daily, regular basis. But each day there will be sometimes imperceptible changes that may alter what I see today as the end result. Every day I will be doing a small something differently which will accumulate to a larger difference at the end of 30 days.
- How will I feel? A daily practice of writing has long been an aim of mine. I will feel proud, and smart, and pretty darn awesome when I can actually accomplish this. Also, in light of the above quote, I will also feel that while I am happy, it’s not by any means an ending. I have to remember to enjoy the journey.
Until next time!Thanks for visiting!
