Fun Monday – The View From My Front Door

Fun Monday – The View From My Front Door

This Monday is the first anniversary of Fun Monday. In honor of that, Vicki at Catch the Light is our host, since, because she was nosy, she started all this Monday Funness one year ago. Today, like last year, she would like to see the view from our front doors – or a repost of the Fun Monday post from last year in which she had the same request. I hadn’t joined yet last year so here is what I see from my front door today.

It is a little dark, but I wanted to catch the view as the sun was coming up, since the sunrises, which can be seen from three separate windows in my house, are what ultimately endeared us to this place. The house faces North, but the front door faces East. Our Front Door is a full, clear-glass front door, with a full, clear-glass storm door. A lovely window on our little corner of the world… but windows have a way of going both ways! Because of that, I was glad this week’s picture WAS NOT What People See When They Come To Your Door. Initially, we planned to replace the front door immediately with something that would limit the outside world’s view of us as we darted down the hall, or up the stairs in our various stages of morning undress. But as time went by, and each new day’s sunrise greeted us with a different array of pink, or violet, or light streaked clouds, our opinion of the glass doors softened – and we learned to wear robes, and pants.

Dark or not, I like your photo with the sunrise, all the trees, and the snow. You have very nice view out your front door.

I have thoughts of getting up with the sun and have gone so far to have done it without a reason on occasion. However, on the weekends, I enjoy the extra hour – until we get a time change again. I imagine in the spring/summer, you have a nice shade from the tree there. You have a great, colorful sunrise. NLM

I think it's more the case that your neighbors just need to get used to seeing you naked.

That's a fantastic view, and I can certainly see why you've opted for pants and robes instead of a wooden front door!

Your view is beautiful! sigh…You can't see through our front door, but we have a sheet of windows in our front room. There went our days of prancing around half-neked as well!

Your front door sounds very pretty.I have a sunroom in the back of our house that is nothing but windows – so we are easily seen as we are walking around in our family room. And having no fence between us and the neighbors has taught us to always be dressed in that room!

What a wonderful view to wake up to each morning regardless of the weather. That and a hot cup of coffee would start the day right. I'm not into window coverings either. Better to dash and keep the overhead lights off!I like your wrting style a lot–will be back.

I love the trees. They just make it seem so much more done. I abhor places that lack trees. The stop sign almost looks like the sun coming up.And I loved the ring of fairy flowers. Very imaginative.

Don't put a robe on just for me, I won't look I promise. My kids would have LOVED those trees when they were younger…they were real climbers! The view you have is amazing when that sun is coming up, just beautiful.

That's a great view, and without too many neighbours to screw it up either! You can have the snow.

I've tried several times to see your picture and at last it's uploaded. I think you captured a lovely view with the sun appearing through the trees.

I would just let those nosy neighbors think it was the moon. Afterall the sun peaks through every morning, too. Yes? (:An absolutely divine sunrise.
